The Best And Worst Insurance Policies in Florida

The Best And Worst Insurance Policies in Florida

If you are confused about the best kind of auto insurance to buy in Florida, you are not alone. People have plenty of options when it comes to coverage, and knowing which option to pick can be very confusing.  However, there are a few insurance policies that consumers and critics love, and there are others of which you should be aware.

Best High-Risk Insurance

If you have had bad luck on the road or if you are a little clumsy,  you may find that you have a problem obtaining a good insurance rate or finding a company to insure you at all. Fortunately, some companies concentrate strictly on high-risk drivers.

General Insurance

This company based out of Tennessee offers insurance to high-risk drivers. It is a  fairly good option if you are no stranger to accidents.

Consumers like it for the discounts they offer, such as a 10% discount to customers who take a defensive driving class. They also offer a discount for good drivers. An 18-year-old driver will pay approximately $242 a month for this insurance. A driver who is 65 years or older may pay around $114 a month.

However, General Insurance has some Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaints against it.  The consumer advocacy website Wallet Hub gives it a low rating for this reason. They charge higher prices than most insurance companies, but they are about average for companies that cater to high-risk drivers.

Best Luxury Vehicle Insurance

If you own a nice car and a nice home, you want to protect what you have. Some insurance companies primarily cater to people in the upper-middle class and higher income brackets.

PURE Insurance

Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange (PURE) insurance caters to drivers of means. It is dedicated to top-quality customer service and is owned by its customers and investors. PURE covers everything from jewelry to expensive homes to fine automobiles. Their insurance salespeople put together custom packages for their affluent clients.

Customers have given this company mixed reviews. Some said that they were treated with a special level of customer care, while others say there was nothing special about the service. The company does very little business online, so you will have to go through an agent if you want full coverage.

According to the website Bankrate, the company’s best qualities include the fact that it offers many different types of insurance. It has fewer National Association of Insurance Commissioners complaints than other companies and is available in every state in the country.

You will end up paying an average of $4,000 a year for insurance coverage from PURE. Customer reviews have said that they promised a high level of customer service, but It was not any better than other insurance companies. They do not give many discounts to customers.

Best Insurance for the Average Driver

Most drivers are not considered high-risk and do not own luxury automobiles. The average driver is looking to comply with the law, get a good rate on their insurance, and have adequate coverage should they ever get in an accident.

All-State

All-State is considered one of the best insurance companies. JD Powers and Associates did a comparison of all insurance companies, and All-State ranked highly with a score of 846 out of 1000 points.

The best insurance rate for you will depend on certain factors. GEICO has the lowest rates for average drivers and young people. State Farm has the lowest rates for people with a speeding ticket and the best rates for people who recently had accidents.

The Worst Insurance

Despite having an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and good customer ratings, professional critics and consumer advocates rate National General Insurance as one of the worst insurance providers. Critics say that they have very high premiums and bad customer service. Premiums are one of the most important things to consider when purchasing an insurance policy.

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners regulates the insurance industry, and they have had many complaints about this company.

AIG Auto Insurance is also considered a company to avoid. They had an abysmal score in the JD Powers and Associates study, which found that customers were not satisfied with the service they got from AIG.

If an insurance company doesn't pay up after you have had an accident, you may find yourself calling 1-800-Injured, to find a good personal injury attorney.

The best-rated auto insurance is not necessarily the best auto insurance for you. It is always a good idea to go to a referral website first. That way, you can type in your specifications and find the perfect coverage for your situation.
